My experience buying Vista

Posted by Daniel on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I bought a copy of Vista last night.  Yup, I did it.  If any of you know me, I'm a huge Linux nut, and I find myself much more productive on my Linux machine than any other OS.  But I need it to run Quickbooks, so I broke down and bought it.

I went to Newegg's site, as they had free shipping for an OEM copy of Vista Home Premium for only $109.99.  But I haven't paid for software in years, because everything I use is pretty much open source or came with my computer.  So I sat there, debating back and forth, back and forth, "Do I buy this?  Is it worth $109.99?" After wasting a lot of time on the final checkout screen, I closed my eyes and clicked the "Confirm" button.

Well, here goes.  I hope it works.

Now, only if Quickbooks Online Edition didn't require Internet Explorer!
