Apricots or Swings?

Sister Phillips in our ward invited anyone who was interested in apricots to "help yourself."  Her tree was about to break with all the apricots on them.  So last night we took our boxes and ladder and picked apricots. Jeffrey and Cambree had a wonderful time picking apricots off the lower branches.  Their interest level lasted only a few minutes and then they saw the swings.  Of course they haven't figured out how to swing themselves so we're hearing, "Push me, please?" "Da'ad?" "Mommy?" "Help me, please?"  I think I would have only gotten a few apricots if I just went in the morning with the kids.

Well, I'm happy to report that we got 2 boxes of apricots, but we had a great time together swinging them and taking turns on the ladder.  Sis. Phillips then let Cambree and Jeffrey see and hold her four new kittens.  I had to supervise Cambree and Jeffrey from picking them up by their heads or squeezing them so hard that they squealed. . . Oh and dropping them because the little kittens are holding on for dear life (digging their sharp claws into anything they can find).

Anyway, I look forward to preserving these apricots in a few days.  And I am so glad that it didn't have to be a battle, but that we could see the opportunity to have fun, too.
